General update: January

January 20, 2015 by Bret Kramer (aka WinstonP)

Apologies for the paucity of updates to the Sentinel Hill Press blog.  I’ve been busy serving many masters of late, not the least of which is the Kickstarter for issue #3. See the updates there for more specific info regarding the progress of our witchcraft issue.  (Some of those are, of course, backer only.)

Aside from getting the unexpected but welcome news we’d been voted runner up for best magazine in Diehard GameFAN’s 2014 RPG round-up, I’ve also sold out of copies of The Graveyards of Providence and have updated the website to reflect that.  I’m hoping to issue a revamped guide for NecronomiCon 2015 but I have yet to work out the logistics of attending, which was a far simpler thing when I could but hop on 146 and drive southwards.

I surveyed our Kickstarter backers as to what topic (if any) they would like to see covered in issue #4.  The results were rather mixed, with no one topic predominating (the top four, all within a few votes were – Miskatonic University, the Hyperboreans, Native Americans, and Kingsport) so I think I’ll prepare several possible ‘tracks’ for issue #4 and depending on the submissions, go  with what our writers send (or merge two topics, as needed).

Content wise, issue #3 is up to 55k.  I’m satisfied with 11 of our pieces and am still working on 6 more.  All of them are at least 1/2 done, most more so.  I’m hoping to get all the text done by the end of the month.

That’s all for now.  I’ll try to post updates here more frequently, but keep an eye on the Kickstarter’s updates page for the absolute latest.
